Robert S. Cooper

Mr. Cooper is a litigation and trial attorney with a diverse litigation practice based in Los Angeles, emphasizing labor and employment law as well as employment litigation, business litigation, maritime law, toxic torts, qui tam whistle-blower and catastrophic injury cases. During the last 12 years, Mr. Cooper has tried catastrophic injury cases on behalf of Fortune 500 companies including Cessna Aircraft Co, ALCOA and Goodyear-Dunlop Tires North America Ltd. Mr. Cooper has also represented The County of Los Angeles in numerous employment discrimination cases through trial. He is currently on the employment law panel of St. Paul-Travelers Insurance Company and advises various companies as to labor and employment matters.

Mr. Cooper is also on the Maritime law panel of Gulf Insurance company and handles Maritime recovery litigation pursuant to the Carriage of Goods by Sea Act and the Carmack Amendment. He has successfully litigated qui tam whistle-blower cases involving the aerospace industry and is listed in the national qui tam attorney directory published by Taxpayers Against Fraud, (TAF) in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Cooper obtained his undergraduate degree in 1982 from the University of California, Berkeley. He received his Juris Doctor in 1992 from Loyola University Law School, Los Angeles. Prior to law school, Mr Cooper worked as a Legal Assistant for the City Attorney of San Francisco in San Francisco City Hall and during law school worked as a law clerk for the Los Angeles law firm Greene, Broillet, Taylor and Wheeler handling all facets of catastrophic injury cases. During law school, Mr. Cooper also served an externship as a clerk for Federal Magistrate Judge, Hon. John R. Kronenberg in the United States District Court, Central District.

After passing the California Bar examination in 1992, Mr. Cooper worked for the boutique product liability law firm, Belcher, Henzie & Beginzahn (1992-1998) located in Los Angeles and later for the Century City litigation firm, Stephan, Oringher, Richman & Theodora (1998-2004). On January 1, 2005, Mr. Cooper opened his own practice located in the Howard Hughes Center, Los Angeles, and serves as of counsel to Blumberg Law Group, LLP.
